SAATH: 5000 Families Provided Support By Vivek Oberoi's Noble Initiative During COVID-19- EXCLUSIVE
Recently, we interacted with Vivek Oberoi, Ankita Lokhande and film producer, Sandip Ssingh over a video call. The trio spoke at length about how COVID-19 has affected their lifestyles and during our conversation, Vivek shed light on his initiative called, SAATH that aims at helping those in need.

Vivek elaborated, “We have started a program about 2 weeks ago called SAATH; its full form is ‘Support Aid And Assist Helpless’. So, we observed that many of these migrant labourers have been stranded here since a while now. Nearly 14 days back, I found out that right next to my bungalow, there's a building in which migrant labourers with families and kids didn't have anything to eat. There was no food for them.

So, I made food in my house and sent it to 12 families. And then I realised that there are so many families like these. That’s how we started a program wherein we began taking note of registered migrant workers. Then we got in touch with all the Uber autowallahs and verified their bank accounts, post which we directly started sending Rs 100-200 to their accounts and in this way till now, we have supported more than 5000 families. We are launching the initiative on social media for people to directly and instantly create an impact. I'm only making it public now.”

We hope through Vivek's noble gesture, the people of our country who are in dire need get assistance to the fullest.
